KATHMANDU: Nepal has increased the visa fee on foreign nationals visiting Nepal for various purposes effective from Wednesday.
The department of immigration said that the tourist visa fee has been increased from $5 to $25 depending on duration of stay in Nepal.
Now onwards a tourist will have to pay $30 for 15-day visa. For a 90-day visa, the fee has been increased to $125 from $100, according to the department.
The government officials said that the visa fee has been hiked as the fee was not reviewed for the last 10 years. “We have increased the fee marginally. Despite rise in fee, it is one of the lowest in the world,” said Ishwor Raj Poudel, director general of the department.
