Nepal Tourism Board participated in the China International Travel Mart (CITM 2019) held at Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center located at Kunming, a capital city of Yunnan Province of People’s Republic of China, from 15th to 17th November 2019. The mart was jointly organized by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of People’s Republic of China, Civil Aviation Administration of China and people’s Government of Yunnan Province where the Exhibitors of 58 Countries, 4 International Organizations and 17 Independent Exhibitors were participated in the mart.  The recent visit of His Excellency, Mr. Xi Jinping, President of People’s Republic of China brings a high level of interest and commitment of Chinese buyers to Nepal. Also, in the context of the provision of Gratis visa to Chinese visitors, and the announcement by His excellency Mr. Xi Jinping to support “Visit Nepal Year 2020” Nepal has been able to maintain a steady growth of Chinese outbound travelers to Nepal and the obvious projections of sustained growth in outbound numbers are very evident.

His Excellency, Mr. Luo Shugang, Minister of Culture and Tourism for People’s Republic of China visited Nepal Stall in the inaugural day and showed his sincere commitment to support Nepal’s national tourism campaign, Visit Nepal 2020. Other high-level delegations of Yunnan province of People’s Republic China also visited Nepal stall and extended their support to the promotion of Nepal in Yunnan Province of China.

Nepal Stall over the three days program witnessed a steady flow of business visitors and consumers alike. Nepal Tourism Board along with 6 Nepalese travel trade partners namely Adventure Outdoor Excursion Pvt. Ltd., Himalayan Sherpa Holidays, Hotel Mystic Mountain P. Ltd., Pearl Holidays Pvt. Ltd., Saathi Nepal Travel & Tours Pvt. Ltd, Outdoor Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. and Pearl Holidays Pvt. Ltd. successfully represented Nepal during the travel mart. Nepalese Companies also participated in Buyers & Exhibitors Networking on the second of the mart. Destination awareness among the participants of the event was found to be fairly high, destination business interest was satisfactory and visitors’ concerns were focused on the adventure activities and safety and security issues and tourism activities beyond the already-known mountaineering and trekking. The Nepalese delegation focused on promoting Nepal’s national campaign, “Visit Nepal 2020” and in propagating assurance of safety and quality service for the tourists.
