The Visit Nepal Year 2020 Europe launch program was organized on March 7 jointly organized by Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Embassy in Berlin.

More than 300 VIP from the German travel trade, media and diplomatic community enjoyed an evening with Nepalese traditional food at the Logenhaus, Berlin. The Visit Nepal 2020 launch event was dedicated in honor the late Nepal Minister of Tourism, Rabindra Prasad Adhikari, who was instrumental in the vision of this new era in tourism for Nepal.

Nandini Lahe-Thapa, Senior Director of Nepal Tourism Board called for a minute of silence in honor of the departed souls and requested all support in making the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign a success.

Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO, Nepal Tourism Board highlighted Nepal is now geared for experiential tourism and working towards making a visit to Nepal- a lifetime experience, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Ed Bartlett thanked Nepal for their cooperation in hosting the regional global resilience Conference. Dr. Taleb Rifai, former UNWTO Secretary-General gave a moving tribute to the late Nepalese minister and praised Nepal tourism leadership and the Nepali people.

The keynote address was given by the Nepalese Ambassador to Germany Ramesh Prasad Khanal.

The Embassy formed a VY2020 tourism task group under the direct leadership of the ambassador.
